Role and Responsibilities:

Inventory Accountant

Job Purpose:

The Accounting Associate is responsible for providing professional level accounting support to the accounting and inventory areas. This position is responsible for weekly inventory reconciliation for Cardlock locations. The associate will be responsible for assisting in the monthly close process of our liquid inventory along with variance analysis and account reconciliations.

JOB DUTIES:

- Analyze inventory location transactions for accuracy.
- Order Verification - Verify that the delivery information is correctly loaded into system. Coordinate with Transport & Purchasing to ensure any Bill of Ladings are processed correctly.
- Identify inventory area accruals needed and maintain monthly reconciliations
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of inventory reconciliations for monthly closing responsibilities.
- Responsible for timely and accurate monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts.
- Provide superior customer service by investigating any Bill of Lading discrepancies from internal and / or external customers.
- Perform month end close duties including close processes and journal entries.
- Interact with the Operations team to present inventory findings and explain monthly P+L statement variances.
- Perform additional duties as needed.

SKILLS:

Team Player, Quality Focus, Problem Solving, Understanding of Software Systems, and the ability to work effectively across organizational lines to achieve results. Intermediate Excel and MS Office tools required. Broad accounting experience, versatility, and ability to perform with limited supervision are required.

Qualifications and

Education Requirements:

Accounting degree. 5 years of related accounting experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions.

- Hours of operation:
Department is staffed M-F 8:00am – 5:00pm. Eastern Standard Time Additional hours as needed.
