Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Audit Assistant based in Bengaluru.
The Audit Assistant will support the firm's audit and assurance engagements while also assisting with accounting, taxation, and compliance assignments. The role involves working closely with Chartered Accountants and senior professionals to execute audit procedures, prepare working papers, and ensure timely completion of client engagements.
The position offers hands-on exposure to clients across multiple industries and an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in audit, accounting, taxation, and corporate compliance.
Key Responsibilities Assist in conducting Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, Tax Audits, and other assurance engagements.
Prepare audit working papers, documentation, schedules, and supporting evidence.
Perform verification of financial records, books of accounts, and supporting documents.
Assist in preparation and review of financial statements and audit reports.
Support accounting, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny.
Assist in preparation and filing of Income Tax, GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
Support ROC filings and other corporate compliance assignments.
Conduct financial analysis, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Perform basic research on accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with clients for collection of information, clarification of audit queries, and follow-up on pending documentation.
Participate in stock verification, fixed asset verification, due diligence assignments, and other special engagements whenever required.
Ensure timely completion of assignments while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, or equivalent).
Candidates pursuing or having completed CA Intermediate, CMA, ACCA, or similar professional qualifications will be preferred.
Good understanding of Accounting Principles, Auditing Standards, and Financial Statements.
Basic knowledge of Income Tax, GST, Companies Act, and statutory compliances.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Tally Prime, Zoho Books, Quick Books, or other accounting software will be an added advantage.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Willingness to travel for client assignments whenever required.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning.
