About the Role
We’re looking for a Video Editor who understands the internet, has a strong sense of storytelling, and knows what makes people stop scrolling. You’ll work on short-form organic content across Instagram, You Tube Shorts and other social platforms — turning raw footage, ideas and trends into videos that people actually want to watch and share. This is not just an editing role.
We’re looking for someone who can bring their own creative thinking to the content and make every second of a video count.
The charter for this role will include:
Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts and other social platforms.
Take raw footage and turn it into engaging, fast-paced stories.
Work closely with creators/content teams to understand the idea and bring it to life.
Play with hooks, pacing, cuts, music, sound effects, text and transitions to improve retention.
Keep up with internet trends, formats, memes and creator content — and know what is worth jumping on.
Experiment with different editing styles and formats to figure out what works.
Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form pieces.
Take ownership of the edit from the first cut to the final version.
Build a strong understanding of what makes organic content perform.
Ideal Persona:
1–3 years of experience in video editing, preferably working on short-form/social content.
Strong portfolio of Reels, Shorts or other social-first content.
Has a good understanding of hooks, storytelling and retention.
Strong command of Premiere Pro / After Effects / Cap Cut or similar editing tools.
Has a sharp eye for pacing, music, transitions and visual storytelling.
Someone who spends way too much time on Instagram/You Tube — and knows why certain videos work.
Comfortable experimenting, trying new formats and iterating based on performance.
Bonus:
Has worked with creators, content pages or has edited content that has organically performed well.
