Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment:
Review medical history, conduct physical exams, and analyze lab results to determine anesthesia risk.
Anesthesia Planning:
Create tailored plans for various procedures (surgery, labor, critical care).
Administration:
Administer general, regional anesthesia, sedation, and analgesics.
Monitoring:
Continuously track vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen) and adjust anesthesia levels.
Airway Management:
Perform intubation, ventilation, and extubation.
Emergency Response:
Handle adverse reactions, complications, and cardiac events (e.g., defibrillation).
Post-Op Care:
Manage pain and ensure safe recovery from anesthesia.

Collaboration:

Work with surgeons, nurses, and other staff.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate patient records and procedure details.
Supervision:
Oversee nurse anesthetists and technical staff.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Certification:
Board-certified in Anesthesiology.
Licensure:
