Japanese - English Educator

Airlearn is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Japanese Educator for our Japanese to English Content division. This role involves creating high-quality educational content, guiding a small team, and providing strategic direction to ensure our language learning app effectively serves Japanese learners aiming to learn English, particularly for global and US-facing contexts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of both Japanese and English, prior experience in language learning content creation, and the leadership skills required to mentor subject matter experts while shaping a high-impact curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop engaging Japanese to English language learning content tailored to the needs of Japanese learners, with a focus on real-world and US/global usage.
- Use learner feedback, performance metrics, and data insights to continuously refine and optimize content for engagement and learning outcomes.
- Stay up to date with trends in English language education and digital learning to drive innovation and content improvements.
- Provide guidance, review, and mentorship to junior educators or subject matter experts contributing to the course.

Qualifications

- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese, with strong English communication skills.
- Proven experience creating effective language learning content, preferably for digital or app-based learning platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience in mentoring, reviewing, or collaborating within a content team.
- Solid understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy, and learner-centric content strategy.
- Creative mindset combined with a data-driven approach to content evaluation and optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Japanese, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
