We are seeking an enthusiastic, persuasive, and student-focused Admissions Counsellor to guide prospective students through the admissions process for our online university programs. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for inquiries, providing detailed program information, addressing concerns, and helping students make informed decisions about their academic future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students via phone, email, chat, and virtual sessions.
- Counsel prospective applicants on program offerings, eligibility criteria, fee structure, scholarships, career outcomes, and application procedures.
- Conduct one-on-one admissions consultations to assess student fit and readiness, and guide them through the decision-making process.
- Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, webinars, and inquiry forms to convert them into applications.
- Manage and update the CRM system with accurate student interactions and lead status.
- Coordinate with academic and support teams to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to prospective students.
- Ensure admissions targets and conversion ratios are met by tracking and managing the applicant pipeline.
- Participate in virtual open houses, info sessions, and outreach activities to promote programs.
- Assist applicants with document submission, fee payment, and onboarding procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of university policies, programs, timelines, and market trends.
Qualifications &
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree in education, counselling, or management is preferred.
- 1-4 years of experience in student admissions, preferably in online education or EdTech.
- Strong understanding of the admissions lifecycle in a digital environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and video conferencing platforms.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment with strong follow-up skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage with diverse student profiles (working professionals, fresh graduates, international students, etc.).
