About the Role
ARCA Global School is looking for a passionate and disciplined Karate Instructor to train and mentor students across age groups. The role focuses on developing physical fitness, self-defence skills, confidence, and character through structured martial arts education in a safe and motivating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Training
- Plan and conduct karate classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels (beginner to advanced).
- Deliver engaging lessons covering techniques, forms (kata), sparring (kumite), and martial arts philosophy.
Student Development
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Prepare students for belt grading examinations and participation in local, district, and national-level competitions.
Safety & Learning Environment
- Ensure a safe, disciplined, and positive training environment at all times.
- Uphold best practices related to student safety, physical well-being, and class management.
Curriculum & Collaboration
- Coordinate with school leadership and staff to align martial arts training with the school’s holistic education goals.
- Support the development and enhancement of the school’s martial arts curriculum when required.
Administration & Communication
- Maintain accurate student records and manage class schedules.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress and activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum First (Sho) Dan Black Belt or equivalent certification in a recognized karate style (e.g., Shotokan, Goju-ryu).
Experience
- Prior teaching or coaching experience, preferably with school-aged children or in an academy/school environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent classroom and student management abilities.
- Patience, motivation, and the ability to inspire discipline and confidence.
Personal Attributes
- High standards of personal discipline, professionalism, and punctuality.
- Ability to act as a positive role model for students.
