Position Overview:

- To provide various forms of support to students, including academic advising, counselling services, and resources for personal and emotional well-being. OSA may also assist students with navigating academic and administrative processes.
- To create a vibrant campus life by organizing events, clubs, and activities that encourage student involvement and foster a sense of community. These may include social events, cultural celebrations, leadership development programs, and sports activities.
- To be responsible for enforcing and upholding the university’s code of conduct and disciplinary policies. OSA addresses violations of rules and regulations and may facilitate conduct hearings or sanctions as necessary.
- To organize orientation programs for new students to help them acclimate to campus life, understand academic requirements, and connect with their peers. They provide support for transfer students and assist with the transition from one academic level to another.
- To oversee residential life, including housing assignments, resident assistants, and ensuring a positive and safe living environment.
- To provide or coordinate access to healthcare services, including medical clinics or wellness programs, to support students’ physical health.
- To assists student-run organizations by providing resources, guidance, and funding opportunities. The OSA may also offer leadership development programs to help students develop essential skills.
- To work towards promoting diversity and inclusion on campus, ensuring that all students feel welcomed and supported regardless of their backgrounds.
- To manage and respond to crisis or emergencies affecting students, such as natural disasters or mental health emergencies or any such situations that needs attention.
- To promote the student exchange programs through national and international exchange programs for students through the OIR.
- To identify and select the international/national MoU signing opportunities which can benefit the students.
- To supervise and carryout other works related to student welfare to be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.

Education & Experience

Required:

- Masters or Higher Degree, Ph.D in relevant field.
- Certification course in Student Affairs Counseling / Education Leadership.

- Experience of 15 – 20 yrs in Student Affairs.

Skills Required:

- Excellent communication skill both written and verbal, Strong Leadership skills, including the ability to manage staff and oversee complex programs and services.
- Strong Problem Solving skills and conflict resolutions skills, Knowledge of legal and Ethical issues.
