Alliance University invites applications for faculty positions in Quantum Computing at the level of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor for AU-QUASAR . The faculty member will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, laboratory development, student mentoring, sponsored projects, and academic administration in the area of quantum computing and allied domains .
The role is intended for academicians and researchers with strong expertise in quantum computing, quantum information science, quantum algorithms, quantum software, quantum hardware systems, or adjacent interdisciplinary areas , and with the ability to build a high-quality academic and research ecosystem aligned with the School’s deep-tech vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Teaching & Academic Delivery
Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Quantum Computing and related areas.
Design and deliver courses such as:
Introduction to Quantum Computing
Quantum Mechanics for Computing
Quantum Algorithms
Quantum Information Theory
Quantum Programming and Simulation
Quantum Machine Learning
Quantum Error Correction
Quantum Cryptography / Post-Quantum Cryptography
Linear Algebra, Probability, Optimization, and Mathematical Foundations relevant to quantum systems
Develop course outlines, lesson plans, assessments, lab exercises, project-based learning modules, and capstone experiences.
Integrate theory with practical learning using simulators, cloud quantum platforms, and available quantum hardware ecosystems .
Guide students in mini-projects, major projects, hackathons, innovation challenges, and research internships.
2) Research & Scholarly Contributions
Undertake high-quality research in Quantum Computing and related areas , leading to publications in reputed peer-reviewed / indexed journals and conferences .
Build a focused research agenda in areas such as:
Quantum Algorithms and Complexity
Quantum Optimization
Quantum Machine Learning
Quantum Communications / Quantum Cryptography
Quantum Software Engineering
Quantum Systems Architecture
Hybrid Quantum-Classical Computing
Error Mitigation / Error Correction
Quantum Applications in Healthcare, Finance, Materials, Logistics, Security, and AI
Apply for sponsored research grants, consultancy assignments, and collaborative research projects with government agencies, research labs, and industry.
Contribute to patents, technology disclosures, prototypes, open-source tools, white papers, and translational research outputs .
Establish and strengthen interdisciplinary research collaborations within the University and with external organizations.
3) Curriculum & Program Development
Support the design and continuous enhancement of Quantum Computing curriculum in line with emerging global academic and industry trends.
Contribute to new course development, specialization pathways, interdisciplinary electives, and experiential learning modules .
Benchmark curriculum against leading global institutions, quantum research centres, and industry requirements .
Assist in designing outcome-based learning frameworks, rubrics, and academic quality standards .
4) Laboratory & Research Ecosystem Development
Contribute to the establishment and strengthening of Quantum Computing labs, simulation environments, and research facilities within AU-QUASAR.
Support the setup, utilization, and academic integration of quantum software platforms, toolkits, and cloud-based quantum resources .
Develop lab manuals, use cases, datasets, coding assignments, and experimentation frameworks for student and research use.
Promote a hands-on, innovation-driven learning environment with exposure to real-world quantum workflows.
5) Student Mentoring & Academic Support
Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in academic progression, research, projects, innovation, entrepreneurship, and career development .
Supervise dissertations, theses, independent studies, and student research outputs .
Support student participation in conferences, coding competitions, publications, and startup / incubation initiatives .
Act as faculty advisor / mentor for student clubs, research groups, and deep-tech initiatives…
