Position Overview
Dayananda Sagar University seeks a distinguished academic leader to provide strategic direction, academic excellence, and institutional growth for its Business School. The role will drive innovation in management education, strengthen industry engagement, enhance research output, promote faculty development, and ensure the delivery of a world-class learning experience aligned with the University's vision and goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the Business School's strategic plan in alignment with the University's mission and long-term objectives.
Lead academic transformation initiatives focused on quality, innovation, global relevance, and employability.
Establish the School as a recognized center of excellence in management education, research, and industry collaboration.
Drive accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance initiatives.
Academic Excellence
Provide oversight of academic programs including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and executive education offerings.
Ensure curriculum relevance through integration of emerging business trends, technology, analytics, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
Promote innovative pedagogical practices, experiential learning, and outcome-based education.
Monitor academic quality, student performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Research & Scholarly Development
Foster a strong research culture among faculty and scholars.
Encourage high-quality publications, funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and intellectual property creation.
Build research centers, industry-sponsored labs, and collaborative academic partnerships.
Support doctoral programs and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Faculty Leadership
Attract, mentor, develop, and retain high-quality faculty talent.
Lead faculty performance management, capability building, succession planning, and leadership development.
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance academic culture.
Industry & Corporate Relations
Strengthen partnerships with industry, professional bodies, government agencies, and academic institutions.
Facilitate internships, live projects, corporate mentoring, executive education, consulting assignments, and placement opportunities.
Represent the School in industry forums, conferences, and academic networks.
Student Success & Stakeholder Engagement
Ensure an enriching student experience through academic support, career development, entrepreneurship initiatives, and leadership programs.
Engage effectively with students, alumni, recruiters, parents, and external stakeholders.
Promote global exposure opportunities through collaborations, exchange programs, and international partnerships.
Operational & Financial Management
Provide effective oversight of budgets, resource allocation, infrastructure planning, and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous institutional improvement.
Educational Qualifications
Ph.D. in Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Consistent record of academic excellence and scholarly contributions.
Experience
15–20+ years of progressive experience in higher education, including significant leadership responsibilities.
Proven track record of managing large academic units, business schools, or multidisciplinary institutions.
Experience in accreditation processes, research development, industry engagement, and institutional growth.
Strong network within academia, industry, and professional bodies.
