Job Position:
Library Assistant
Qualification:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Library and Information Science
- B.L.I.Sc. / M.L.I.Sc.
- Or equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a recognised school, college, or university library.
Skills Required:
- Familiarity with library automation software and digital library management
- Basic computer literacy, including:
- MS Office
- Database handling
- Knowledge of digital repository handling
- Knowledge of barcoding/RFID systems
- Basic troubleshooting for library computer systems
Key Responsibilities:
Circulation & Collection Management
- Manage book circulation, check-ins and check-outs.
- Catalogue new arrivals.
- Maintain books, journals and digital databases.
User Support & Research Services
- Assist users in navigating physical and electronic medical resources.
- Facilitate access to reference materials for academic and research activities.
Daily Operations
- Support general administrative tasks.
- Maintain an organised and user-friendly library environment.
