Why this role exists

We are building a fresh College ERP from the ground up. We learned the hard way that a new product line cannot be run like a normal engineering project. It needs customer truth, fast iterations, and one person who cares about outcomes, not just delivery.

If you have a product mindset, entrepreneurial energy, and you can code, this is a rare opportunity to build a category-defining product inside an already scaling company.

The opportunity (real scale, real impact)

Our target is:

- 100 colleges, ₹4 crores of new ARR, in the next 12 months
- 300 colleges, ₹15 crores of new ARR, in the next 24 months

You will be part of the core team working with the Founders and CEO, shaping the product that drives this growth.

What you will do

This is not a “ticket-taking developer” role. You will operate like a product builder.

- Build and ship features end-to-end with a strong focus on usability and quality
- Join customer conversations (with founder/PM support initially), understand workflows and pain points
- Translate requirements into crisp user stories, acceptance criteria, and scalable implementation
- Own one module or wedge end-to-end, discovery, build, release, feedback, iteration
- Use AI tools to accelerate development (prompting, code assistance, debugging), but keep engineering fundamentals strong
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and release cycles
- Keep shipping momentum with strong testing and documentation discipline

Weekly operating cadence (how we work)

- 3 customer conversations per week
- Friday demo every week
- One wedge module at a time, no chaos, no random inputs
- All Sales/CEM inputs flow through a single prioritization channel, not directly to the dev team.

Tech stack

What success looks like in 90 days

- You have participated in 15+ customer conversations with documented learnings
- You have shipped weekly releases consistently
- One wedge/module is stable enough to demo repeatedly and use in pilots
- You can clearly explain customer workflows and the product decisions we made

What we are looking for

Must-have

- 1 to 2 years hands-on software development experience
- Strong fundamentals: APIs, databases, debugging, clean code
- Can communicate clearly, writing and speaking
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast iteration
- Ownership mindset, you finish what you start

Big plus

- Exposure to customer discussions, demos, or requirement gathering
- Prior startup experience (even a failed one is fine if you learned)
- SaaS or product company background
- Comfort using AI tools to speed up development
