Role Overview

The Director of AI Engineering will own AI strategy, architecture, and execution across Mitigata’s products and platforms. This leader will work at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, cloud, and engineering, translating advanced ML research into scalable, secure, and customer-ready solutions.

You will build and lead high-performance AI engineering teams while partnering closely with Product, Security Research, Platform Engineering, and Customer Success.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Leadership

- Define and drive Mitigata’s AI/ML roadmap aligned with cyber resilience use cases (threat detection, anomaly detection, behavioral analytics, automation, risk scoring).
- Own end-to-end AI delivery—from problem definition and model selection to production deployment and monitoring.
- Act as a technical leader and mentor, building a strong culture of innovation, ownership, and engineering excellence.

Architecture & Engineering

- Design scalable AI/ML architectures for real-time and batch processing of high-volume security telemetry.
- Lead development of models across supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised, and generative AI techniques.
- Ensure AI systems are secure, explainable, resilient, and compliant with enterprise security standards.

MLOps & Pjatformization

- Establish best-in-class MLOps practices (CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, drift detection).
- Partner with platform teams to embed AI services into Mitigata’s core cyber security stack.
- Drive cloud-native AI deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Cross - Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Management to convert customer and market needs into AI-driven features.
- Collaborate with SOC, threat research, and incident response teams to operationalize AI insights.
- Support pre-sales, customer engagements, and executive discussions as a subject-matter expert when needed.

Required Qualification

- 12–16+ years of experience in software engineering, with 7+ years in AI/ML engineering leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on background in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, anomaly detection, or generative AI.
- Experience building and deploying AI systems at scale in enterprise or SaaS environments.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity domains such as SOC operations, SIEM/XDR, threat intelligence, cloud security, or risk analytics.
- Expertise in Python and ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

- Experience with big data technologies (Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch, data lakes).

Preferred Qualification

- Experience applying AI in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or large-scale risk platforms.
- Exposure to LLMs, RAG architectures, and AI-driven automation in security workflows.
- Familiarity with compliance, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
- Prior experience scaling AI teams in a high-growth startup or product company.
