Role
Summary:
The Program Manager at Voya is responsible for leading and delivering high-impact strategic initiatives across complex, cross-functional IT programs. This role requires a strong technical background, with proven expertise in driving automation solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to guide program execution, working with various application teams across India and US, ensure alignment with Voya’s business priorities, and maintain compliance within governance frameworks.
A key focus is on proactive stakeholder engagement, sustaining delivery excellence, and upholding Voya’s standards for controls and reporting.
Must Have
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing IT programs or projects across multiple applications or solution groups
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in IT or software development environments
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and implementing Automation solutions
- Solution oriented, experience on Cost benefit Analysis, Alternate decision making
- Must have Technical Background working as a developer on any of the Programming technologies like Java, .Net, Mainframe Cobol (non Data)
- Proven track record of stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the intake, prioritization, and resolution of issues and defects through tools such as Service Now and Zephyr, ensuring timely assignment and follow-up in line with defined SLAs.
- Maintain up-to-date dashboards to provide transparency on program status and escalate risks or challenges as needed.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, report progress, and address concerns proactively.
- Ensure adherence to Voya’s internal controls, compliance requirements, and reporting protocols throughout the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Define program vision and success metrics aligned with Voya’s strategic priorities.
- Apply technical expertise to lead the identification, design, and implementation of automation solutions, driving increased efficiency and innovation across programs.
- Work closely with various stake holder across different team including developers, Architects, App owners, Managers, size the work and harmonize the project efforts to align results.
- Develop integrated program plans, budgets, and timelines; maintain auditable artifacts
- Coordinate and manage small projects across various applications and solution groups, facilitating collaboration and ensuring successful delivery of objectives
- Ensure benefits realization across all projects within the program.
Control
- Track and Maintain Automation list for prioritization and SLA compliance.
- Plan and execute transitions from implementation to AM teams, including readiness checkpoints and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Maintain dashboards and produce weekly status reports highlighting outcomes and next-week commitments.
- Maintain a crisp communication plan for releases, migrations, and changes; align with PMs where applicable
Governance
- Communicate program status, risks, and benefits to senior leadership and sponsors.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across Business, IT, and offshore/onshore teams.
- Surface risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with senior leadership for escalations and strategic decisions; prepare executive summaries.
- Produce weekly status for stakeholders (business & IT), highlighting outcomes, plan vs. actual, aged items, and next-week / Month commitments.
- Schedule/facilitate working sessions across Business, BSC, Development/QA (offshore & onshore); document decisions, action items, owners, and due dates.
Process & governance:
• Apply Voya delivery controls (e.g., change approvals, scheduling governance touchpoints) and ensure artifacts are complete, auditable, and timely.
• Drive continuous improvement of intake, estimation, and status practices; contribute templates and playbooks.
