Job Overview:
The Manager – Benefits Administration Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing end-to-end health and welfare benefits administration delivery, including system configuration, functional testing, and carrier file quality assurance.
The Manager is accountable for delivery quality, defect prevention, regulatory compliance, SLA adherence, and team performance within a production-oriented, low-error-tolerance environment.
This role is not application development leadership. It is operational delivery leadership within regulated benefits administration platforms and carrier operations workflows.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Lead and manage cross-functional operations teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery in a regulated environment.
Own delivery accountability, ensuring outputs meet defined client expectations, compliance standards, and performance commitments.
Establish and maintain governance frameworks that promote quality, control, and operational discipline.
Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators related to quality, timeliness, and operational effectiveness.
Oversee issue management processes, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Manage team capacity, workload planning, and resource allocation to support business cycles and evolving priorities.
Coach and develop team members to strengthen domain expertise, analytical capability, and quality standards.
Act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment, transparency, and timely resolution of escalations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, BCA, MCA, or related discipline.
10+ years of experience in health insurance or health and welfare benefits administration, with strong exposure to eligibility, COBRA, and carrier operations workflows.
Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts sufficient to oversee reconciliation and data validation processes.
Strong understanding of structured testing methodologies and QA lifecycle management.

Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and documentation standards in audit-sensitive environments.
Proven ability to manage SLAs, quality metrics, and operational performance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with Agile or structured delivery frameworks.
Exposure to automation or scripting initiatives to improve QA efficiency.
Experience managing carrier onboarding or file certification processes.
