About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient SEO Lead to own the organic search strategy, execution, and performance for a portfolio of high-growth clients. This role is highly cross-functional and demands deep expertise in technical SEO, advanced content strategy, data analysis, AI-era search trends, and client communication. You will be responsible for delivering measurable growth, mentoring SEO specialists, and ensuring execution aligns with evolving search engine algorithms and business goals.
You will need to also own our progression into the GEO world and decide on which are the best tools out there to help us achieve our goals with our clients
Responsibilities
1. Strategic SEO Leadership
Develop, articulate, and lead sophisticated SEO and GEO strategies tailored to client verticals (e.g., SaaS, eCommerce, Fin Tech, B2B).
Align SEO strategies with broader marketing, product, and revenue goals.
Conduct full-funnel SEO planning, from TOFU content strategy to BOFU conversion optimization.
Architect and implement scalable SEO frameworks including hub-and-spoke models, programmatic SEO, topical authority, and schema mapping.
Completely create and own the SEO process, process documentation and review verticals
Develop and evolve strategies aligned with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer
Engine Optimization), and LLM-driven search experiences. Stay ahead of algorithm updates, AI search shifts, and platform changes, translating them into actionable strategies.
2. Technical SEO Execution
Perform comprehensive technical SEO audits using tools like Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, and custom scripts.
Optimize for Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering issues, crawl efficiency, internationalization (hreflang), pagination, faceted navigation, and index bloat.
Implement and troubleshoot structured data (JSON-LD), schema markup, and custom metadata strategies across various CMS platforms and headless CMS systems.
Work closely with dev teams to prioritize and QA SEO tickets across web properties.
3. Content Architecture & Search Intent Optimization
Oversee keyword universe development, cluster mapping, and internal linking strategies based on SERP intent segmentation.
Use content gap analysis, TF-IDF tools, and AI-assisted tools (Surfer, Frase, Clearscope, etc.) to guide creation of highly optimized, conversion-driven content.
Direct editorial teams to align with EEAT principles, brand voice, and search intent.
4. Performance Analytics & Experimentation
Define SEO KPIs and create dashboards (Looker Studio, GA4, Big Query) that track rankings, traffic quality, assisted conversions, and ROI across client accounts.
Lead A/B and multivariate testing for SEO impact, including title/meta tests, page layout changes, and content format experiments.
Analyze post-algorithm impact across portfolio and adjust strategies proactively.
5. Client Management & Communication
Serve as the primary SEO advisor for senior stakeholders, including CMOs and Heads of Growth.
Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with clear, jargon-free insight into performance, opportunities, and next steps.
Translate technical SEO recommendations into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
6. Team Leadership & Process Optimization
Manage and mentor a team of SEO managers, specialists, and analysts.
Build SOPs, QA frameworks, and internal documentation to ensure quality, repeatability, and scalability across all projects.
Contribute to internal knowledge base, SEO playbooks, and competitive intelligence reports.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 6–8 years in SEO with at least 3 years in a client-facing or agency leadership role.
Proven ability to lead SEO strategy for enterprise websites (1M+ pages, international domains, or complex JS frameworks).
Strong technical knowledge of search engine architecture, indexation logic, crawl behavior, and rendering pipelines.
