Senior Security Engineer

Role:
Akamai WAF engineer

Required Technical Skill Set:
Akamai products (CDN, WAF, DNS)

Desired Experience Range: 7 to 10 Years

Location of Requirement:
Remote/Chennai / Bangalore

Responsibilities:

Installation & Configuration:

- Deploy and configure Akamai products (e.g., CDN, WAF, DNS, etc.) according to customer requirements and best practices.
- Integrate Akamai services with customer infrastructure, including web servers, load balancers, and DNS systems.
- Perform testing and validation to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Document installation procedures and configurations.

Support & Troubleshooting:

- Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Akamai services.
- Proactively monitor Akamai performance and identify potential problems.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or product teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of support interactions and troubleshooting steps.

Customer Communication:

- Communicate effectively with customers, providing timely updates and clear explanations of technical issues.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Provide training and guidance to customers on Akamai products and services.

Collaboration & Improvement:

- Collaborate with other engineers and teams to share knowledge and improve processes.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest Akamai products and features.

Qualifications:

- Experience:

( 7+ years) in technical support, system administration, or network engineering.

Experience with Akamai products is a significant advantage.

Technical

Skills:

- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).

- Experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS) and load balancers.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-focused and results-oriented.
