About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Architect who can design and scale our data platform from the ground up. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll make foundational architectural decisions, build robust data pipelines, and enable analytics, ML, and real-time product use cases.

If you think in systems, optimize for scale and cost, and enjoy solving hard distributed data problems — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

- Design and build scalable data lakes, warehouses, and real-time data pipelines.
- Architect batch and streaming systems using Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, etc.
- Implement reliable ETL/ELT workflows with Airflow or NiFi.
- Work on cloud-native data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Optimize SQL performance and large-scale datasets.
- Design data models for analytics and ML use cases.
- Set up governance, security, and compliance (GDPR, encryption, access control).
- Build CI/CD for data pipelines and enable monitoring (Prometheus or equivalent).
- Partner with product, analytics, and ML teams to ship data-driven features.

What We’re Looking For

- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and data engineering.
- Experience building production-grade pipelines and data architectures.
- Hands-on with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Redshift/Snowflake.
- Strong SQL + performance tuning skills.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP preferred).
- Proficiency in Python / Java.
- Ownership mindset and first principles thinking.
- Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments.

Nice to Have

- Experience with ML pipelines or feature stores.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and microservices.
- Experience scaling systems from early stage to growth.
