Service Now Technical Lead
Job Summary:
The Service Now Technical Lead is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and maintenance of the Service Now platform within the organization. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure that the Service Now platform meets the needs of the organization and is aligned with industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Service Now, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of Service Now developers and administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and development of Service Now modules
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement best-practice solutions
- Oversee Service Now configuration, customization, workflows and integration with other systems
- Define and enforce coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices
- Mentor and guide Service Now developers and administrators
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Manage platform upgrades, patching, and performance optimization
- Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and architectural standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Service Now platform
- Participate in roadmap planning and contribute to Service Now strategy and innovation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Service Now development
- 2+ years in a technical lead or architect role
- Strong understanding of Service Now architecture and APIs
- Hands-on experience with scripting (JavaScript, Angular
JS)
- Experience with Service Now integrations (REST, SOAP, MID Server, etc.)
- Proficiency in Service Now modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and Discovery
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Nice to have:
Sec Ops, HRSD, or AI related
- Version of SN – Zurich or Yokohama
