The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for owning, managing, auditing, and reporting on the software and hardware asset inventory and operational processes and procedures to ensure they meet current and future business needs. They will look to identify any business risk associated with IT assets, and provide advice, and best practice guidance to facilitate effective decision making. They will also provide close support to procurement and supplier relationship teams to help control related asset costs.
The IT Asset manager will gather and analyse asset data and apply industry knowledge and experience to ensure ongoing compliance with contracts and laws for software licensing and usage. They will also ensure management of hardware assets is undertaken to ensure appropriate policies and management life cycles are in place and maintained effectively.
They will work closely with procurement and multiple IT stakeholders, imparting knowledge to ensure optimal purchase, licensing agreements and standards are in place to achieve best value for the organisation within operational budgets. The role will form part of the Service Operations function and will require occasional travel to different sites within the OSB Group on an ad-hoc basis in line with business need.

Core Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective asset management policies, controls, procedures, and processes that align with current and future business needs.
Establish, validate and manage the hardware asset inventory, ensuring this is accurately maintained so records and usage is tracked and can be easily reported throughout its lifecycle.
Work closely with IT Operational and procurement teams to ensure effective operational policies and standards are in place for hardware asset management including for device refresh cycles, and for device onboarding and decommissioning.
Establish and validate the software asset management inventory (SNOW) ensuring this is accurately maintained so software attribute records and usage is well managed throughout its lifecycle.
Verify and act to ensure license usage is compliant with relevant laws and regulations (software license grants are used within the terms of use).
Provide support, guidance, and advice to colleagues on licensing, new and existing software contracts, and software asset management best practices.
Collaborate with business departments to support effective tracking, reconciliation and verification of software deployment records and ensure optimised software utilisation is maintained within the business.
Develop and implement effective monitoring and reporting dashboards from the software asset management inventory, to highlight software deployment and utilisation, and to identify risks or issues, ensuring appropriate actions are identified and outcomes delivered.
Conduct, support and lead where appropriate internal and external software asset audits to verify compliance status and lead any remedial or reconciliation action plans where required for ongoing compliance.
Plan and support new hardware and software acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and revocation, and disposal where required of IT assets.
Analyse ongoing usage of cloud services supporting software to ensure compliance, cost and usage optimisation.
Build and maintain a software asset management risk register, and be proactive in helping business stakeholders identify, analyse, mitigate, and escalate software related risks in a timely manner.
Work closely with Finance and procurement teams to ensure IT Asset management activities are managed effectively within agreed operating budgets.
Foster a continuous improvement led approach towards IT asset management procedures, processes, and tooling.
