Role Overview
We are looking for a  Senior Oracle Database Automation Engineer  to design and build scalable automation for Oracle database provisioning, backup, recovery, and high-availability across multi-cloud environments. This role blends  deep Oracle DBA expertise  with  software engineering and automation , supporting a modern DBaaS platform operating at scale.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement automation for  Oracle database provisioning, cloning, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management
Develop and maintain  Oracle automation plugins  using  Python, Bash, and Jinja2
Automate  RMAN backup/restore , DBCA operations, Data Guard configuration, and DBA workflows
Build and enhance automation for  Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB)  lifecycle operations
Implement and troubleshoot  Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and HA/DR architectures
Optimize RMAN strategies including  incremental, snapshot-based backups, and PITR
Integrate Oracle automation with  orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Argo Workflows)
Diagnose and resolve  performance, memory (SGA/PGA/Huge Pages), and storage issues
Implement  SSL/TLS, Oracle Wallet, TDE, and network encryption
Write  unit and integration tests  for automation scripts
Create  technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides
Stay current with Oracle releases, patches, and best practices

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
6+ years  of hands-on experience as an  Oracle DBA  in production environments
Strong expertise in  Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c
Deep knowledge of  RMAN backup & recovery , duplication, and PITR
Strong experience with  Oracle Data Guard (physical/logical), switchover & failover
Hands-on experience with  Oracle RAC
Proficiency in  Python and Bash scripting
Strong  Linux/Unix  administration skills (RHEL, OEL, Ubuntu)

Experience with  Oracle networking  (Listener, TNS, TCPS/SSL)
Knowledge of  Oracle TDE, Wallets, and encryption

Experience with at least one cloud platform ( AWS, Azure, or GCP )
Strong troubleshooting skills for  ORA errors, performance, and storage issues
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with  Oracle on Cloud  (AWS RDS, Azure Database, OCI)
Exposure to  Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with  Terraform, Ansible, or IaC tools
Familiarity with  CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
Oracle certifications ( OCP / OCM ) are a plus
Exposure to  Oracle Exadata or Exadata Cloud Service
