Position: Product Manager - Payments
Location: Bengaluru

About the Role

At Wayfair, we believe everyone should live in a home they love — and we're committed to making that possible through cutting-edge technology. The Buy Platform team owns the foundational systems that power payments at scale, ensuring every transaction is secure, reliable, and seamless.
We are seeking a Product Manager to help shape the future of Wayfair's payments platform. In this role, you will focus on improving core payments infrastructure — from authorization and routing to settlement and tokenization — working closely with Engineering, Data Science, and external vendors. You'll help ensure Wayfair's millions of global customers can transact with confidence while enabling scalable, efficient, and extensible systems that support billions of dollars in annual revenue.

What You'll Do

Own Payments Capabilities:  Drive product strategy and execution for key payments platform features such as authorization flows, routing, and settlement services.
Support Vendor Integrations:  Partner with global payment processors, fraud vendors, and other Fin Tech providers to deliver reliable, cost-effective integrations that enhance customer trust.
Collaborate Across Teams:  Work with stakeholders in Payments, Financing, Loyalty, Fraud, Cart/Checkout, and Finance to align business objectives with platform priorities.
Enable Scalable

Infrastructure:  Partner with Engineering to design APIs and services that can handle high throughput and global scale, while ensuring resilience and extensibility.
Measure & Optimize:  Define and track KPIs like authorization rates, decline reasons, and payment costs. Use data to drive continuous improvements in conversion and efficiency.
Ensure Compliance & Security:  Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Security teams to ensure that payments systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements globally.
Champion Reliability:  Contribute to building systems with strong observability, redundancy, and failover strategies to minimize customer disruption.

What You'll Need

6+ years of overall experience and 3+ yrs into product management experience, ideally in payments, Fin Tech, or related e-commerce platform technology.
Understanding of core payments concepts such as authorization, routing, tokenization, chargebacks, and settlement.
Comfort engaging with engineering teams on architecture, APIs, and system design trade-offs — no coding required, but technical fluency is expected.
Strong product instincts and a platform-oriented mindset — you're motivated to build foundational capabilities that unlock downstream value.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience aligning business and technical teams.
Analytical skills to interpret payments data, identify trends, and prioritize improvements.

Experience with third-party vendor integrations in payments or fraud is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
