Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Bengaluru

Key Responsibilities    Test Planning and Execution:
Design and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases to validate deployment pack functionality.
Integration Testing:
Validate integration between Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) components and third-party systems within the deployment packs.
Simulation of Customer Scenarios:
Simulate real-world customer scenarios in staging environments to proactively identify and address issues before deployment.
Customer Deployment Participation:
Participate in customer deployments to verify real-world execution of use cases, ensuring the solutions are error-free and meet customer expectations.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Work closely with solution architects, developers, and customer teams to align on requirements and expectations for the solution.
Bug Reporting and Issue Tracking:
Report bugs and issues using tools like Jira, and suggest enhancements to improve the quality of the deployment packs.
Test Automation:
Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve regression coverage and enhance CI/CD validation processes.
Root-Cause Analysis:
Conduct root-cause analysis for defects, providing timely resolutions and feedback to the development team.
Documentation:
Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, test results, and release sign-offs to ensure transparency and traceability.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, test frameworks, and deployment validation methodologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience:

2-5 years of QA experience, particularly in software or SaaS environments, ideally within industrial or data platforms.
Test Planning and Execution:
Hands-on experience with test planning, execution, bug tracking, and test automation tools.
Technical

Skills:

Strong understanding of REST APIs, Python scripting, and data validation techniques.
Cloud Platforms:
Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP, and Dev Ops concepts.
Testing Frameworks:

Experience with tools like Postman, PyTest, Selenium, or equivalent testing frameworks.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Collaboration and Communication:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across geographically distributed teams.
Customer-Facing

Experience:

Experience in customer-facing roles or project delivery is highly advantageous.
Preferred Attributes    Exposure to CDF:
Prior exposure to Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) or other industrial data platforms is a plus.
Agile/Scrum:
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Test Suite Maintenance:
Passion for clean, maintainable, and well-documented test suites.
Self-Driven:
Self-driven, proactive, and capable of managing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
