Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to join our Data & AI practice. In this role, you will design, build, and operate enterprise-grade data solutions using the Microsoft Fabric unified analytics platform. You will work closely with UK-based client stakeholders and offshore delivery teams to deliver lake houses, data pipelines, semantic models, and reporting layers that drive measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilitie
sData Engineering & Architectur
eDesign and implement end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, including One Lake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Data Factory components
.Build and optimise ELT/ETL pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark notebooks
.Architect Delta Lake table structures, manage schema evolution, and enforce data quality frameworks
.Implement medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) aligned to client data domains such as Finance, HR, and Supply Chain
.Integrate Microsoft Fabric with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure SQL, Dynamics 365, and third-party ERP/CRM systems

ng Develop semantic models and Direct Lake datasets within Fabric for Power BI consumptio
n.Build executive-level dashboards and self-service reports aligned to F&A KPIs (DSO, DPO, AR ageing, AP cycle time, P&L variance

nce Configure Fabric capacities, work spaces, and access controls in alignment with client security and data governance standar

Implement row-level security (RLS), column-level security, and sensitivity labels using Microsoft Purview integrati
on.
Monitor pipeline performance, manage SLAs, and resolve incidents within agreed ITSM framewor

Required Skills & Expe
rience
Core (Must
Have)4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering on Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Fa
bric).Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Fabric (One Lake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Real-Time Intellig
ence).Strong proficiency in PySpark, SQL (T-SQL / Spark SQL), and Python for data transformation and pipeline
logic.
Experience building and maintaining Power BI semantic models, including DAX authoring and Direct Lake
mode.
Knowledge of Delta Lake / Apache Parquet formats, partitioning strategies, and Z-ord
ering.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices for data pipelines using Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Ac
tions.
Understanding of data governance principles, data lineage, and metadata manag
ement.
Desirable (Nice t
o Have)
Microsoft certifications: DP-600 (Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer), DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate), or PL-300 (Power BI Data An
alyst).Experience in finance domain data (AP, AR, GL, payroll, headcount anal
ytics).Exposure to Fabric Real-Time Intelligence / Event stream for streaming data use
cases.
Knowledge of Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing and lineage tr
acking.
Experience with Databricks, dbt, or other modern data transformation t
ooling.
Prior experience working in an outsourcing or managed services delivery envir
onment.
