Position Overview
The Data Governance Office (DGO) Manager leads a team dedicated to implementing our data management framework, enhancing data quality, cleanliness, timeliness, and accessibility across the enterprise. The DGO Manager will mentor and guide data steward employees, ensuring both their success and the department's overall success. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the DGO will establish a Center of Excellence focused on standardizing and sharing best practices in data definitions, parameters, and management, meeting business service level requirements for accuracy and speed.

The DGO team will manage and integrate all data related to item codes, descriptions, categories, designations, general formatting, and other master data entered into the master data system. Additionally, the DGO team will ensure the integrity of operational data across internal and third-party database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that only approved and valid changes are allowed into the production environment.

• Lead a team of data stewards, typically consisting of 11 to 16 employees.

• Manage processes for Customer, Vendor, and Material Master Data, including new creations, changes, and blocking.

• Oversee processes across a global company with footprints in 26 countries.

• Provide mentoring and training to data stewards, ensuring tasks are performed accurately and per policies, correcting any deviations.

• Work with internal and external audit teams to ensure data and process quality, implementing necessary corrections.

• Collaborate with peers to recommend changes that improve process efficiencies, ensuring timely and professional communication to users, management, and senior leadership regarding recurring issues.

• Interface with cross-functional teams to validate adherence to master data policies and correct non-adherence where appropriate.

• Perform validation and corrections via audit reports to ensure daily standardization.

• Apply best business practices for mass data updates as appropriate.

• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in DGO operations.

• Develop standard procedures, user guides, and other necessary training and job aid materials, and provide training as needed.

• Utilize analytical skills to identify trends.

• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

• Act as a Change Ambassador, promoting and ensuring the adoption of new processes or implementations across Black Box.

• Customer service-oriented with a focus on process improvement.

• Understanding of Vendor and Customer Management in a global environment.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in data management and analysis or related fields.

• Proficiency in SAP Master Data Management.

• Experience with computer system validation and validated testing is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ERP Master Data processes, including additions, changes, and deletions.

• Experience with Service Now, SFDC, Vertex, and D&B is a plus.
