Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Specialist – Finance Domain to lead and strengthen enterprise data governance practices. This role will act as a subject matter expert for financial master data, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment across systems and business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance & Frameworks
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks within the finance domain
Establish policies, standards, and metrics to ensure high-quality and reliable master data
Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen governance practices
Master Data Management
Define and maintain global standards for financial master data, including accounts, entities, and business relationships
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for data ownership and maintenance
Ensure consistency and integrity of master data across systems and applications
Process & Workflow Management
Manage intake, documentation, and execution of master data changes including mappings and hierarchies
Oversee governance forums and ensure timely implementation of updates across platforms
Recommend and implement controls to improve process efficiency and data quality
Tools, Systems & Integration
Support and enhance data governance tools and workflows, ensuring robust controls and seamless handoffs
Contribute to system testing, enhancements, and automation initiatives
Collaborate on data integration and ecosystem alignment efforts
Data Quality & Compliance
Define and monitor data quality rules, identify defects, and drive resolution processes
Ensure adherence to governance standards and promote adoption across teams
Maintain documentation such as data dictionaries, process flows, and standard procedures
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive governance adoption and alignment
Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for data users and stakeholders
Support finance-related data initiatives and respond to ad-hoc queries

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
3–6 years of experience in finance, data governance, or master data management
Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, and reporting platforms
Strong familiarity with collaboration and workflow tools
Preferred:
Knowledge of enterprise systems and workflow tools
Exposure to data analytics, automation tools, or scripting languages
Familiarity with data cataloging, data dictionaries, or governance platforms
Interest or exposure to AI/ML concepts
