Primary skills:
Technology->Functional Testing->Mainframe testing
nd-to-end mainframe testing activities for COBOL-based applications, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting.
Analyze business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and data requirements for mainframe systems.
Coordinate and oversee system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for mainframe components.
Collaborate with development, architecture, and business teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and drive timely resolutions.
Ensure test coverage for batch jobs, online transactions, file processing, and database interactions in mainframe environments.
Implement and enforce testing standards, best practices, and quality metrics appropriate for 5–15 years of experience at a lead level.
Mentor and guide junior testers, providing technical leadership in mainframe testing techniques and tools.
Participate in impact analysis for change requests and releases, estimating testing effort and planning resources accordingly.
Prepare clear test reports, defect metrics, and status updates for stakeholders and management.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, including test optimization, reusability, and risk-based testing approaches.
Knowledge of more than one technology
Basics of Architecture and Design fundamentals
Knowledge of Testing tools
Knowledge of agile methodologies
Understanding of Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects
Understanding of one or more Estimation methodologies, Knowledge of Quality processes
Basics of business domain to understand the business requirements
Analytical abilities, Strong Technical Skills, Good communication skills
Good understanding of the technology and domain
Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of software quality assurance principles, SOLID design principles and modelling methods
Awareness of latest technologies and trends
Excellent problem solving, analytical and debugging skills
