Role

Summary:

- The Product Manager is responsible for defining product strategy, driving roadmap execution, managing stakeholder alignment, and ensuring delivery of business outcomes.

The role is expected to lead AI-enabled transformation within Product Management and establish scalable operating models for AI-assisted delivery.

The Product Manager is a senior member of the Product Management team of IDIT R&D, responsible for managing requirements for large and complex features that impact a specific domain. The candidate should be able to lead workshops with domain managers and customers to elicit requirements and present solution designs. The person should be able to mentor and train other Product Owners.

Pre-requisites

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
MBA preferred.

Experience

10+ years of relevant experience.
Should have some technical experience before transitioning to a BA/Product role.
Insurance experience is a must.
Prior knowledge of Core Insurance Product is a must.

Experience of having worked as a Lead BA/SME in an implementation project for at least 3 years.
Led end-to-end requirements across multiple domains and modules.

Domain Knowledge

Good understanding of Insurance Products and processes covering at least 2 Lines of Business and associated processes.
Good understanding of Reinsurance and Accounting modules.
Good understanding of enterprise-wide system landscape for an insurance company.
Good understanding of typical Insurance systems and their integration with the core system.
Focus on complex end-to-end requirements for a specific domain.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

Align product priorities with business objectives and market needs.
Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, and Customer teams.
Define product operating models and governance frameworks.
Drive product standardization and scalable delivery practices.
Support customer and market-facing strategic discussions.
Drive modernization and transformation initiatives.
Understand and contribute to core and Asia product roadmap.

Functional Responsibilities

Manage a team of Product Owners, Analysts, and Associates.
Gather business requirements for complex changes in the system with focus on a specific domain.
Document requirements in SDS and setup books.
Conduct requirement discussions with Domain Managers and customers.
Co-ordinate implementation of changes with development and QA teams.
Conduct walkthroughs of requirements with development and QA teams.
Conduct User Forums.
Conduct training sessions for junior members of the team.
Work as a core representative to project teams as needed.
Review SDS documents written by team members.
Participate in Blueprint and Solution Design on projects on a need basis.
Analysis and solution design using AI-assisted tools and frameworks.

AI-Enabled Strategic Responsibilities

Define AI-enabled product management operating models.
Drive AI adoption strategy for Product Management and delivery.
Align AI-enabled practices with business outcomes and operational efficiency goals.
Drive transition from implementation-heavy execution to scalable productized delivery.
Evaluate opportunities for AI-enabled acceleration across the product lifecycle.
Partner with Engineering and Architecture on AI platform capabilities.
Define governance and operational standards for AI-enabled product delivery.
Drive organizational capability building around AI-assisted execution.
Define review and validation mechanisms for AI-generated artifacts.
Identify opportunities for delivery acceleration using AI-assisted workflows.
Drive adoption of AI-enabled operating models across teams.

Mandatory Skills

Deep insurance domain expertise; strong understanding of insurance processes and core insurance systems.
Excellent analytical skills and good design skills.
Advanced SQL and data modelling skills (mandatory).
Understanding of SDLC and Agile concepts (mandatory).
Very good verbal and written communication skills.
Good understanding of enterprise-wide system landscape for an insurance company.
Good understanding of typical insurance systems and their integration with the core system.
