Hardware Product Manager

Role Overview
At Hoomanely, we’re building the first precision health platform for pets: a sensor-driven, AI-powered ecosystem that decodes everyday health signals into clinically meaningful insights. We’re looking for a Hardware Product Manager to own a Hoomanely device end-to-end, from the first prototype in a pet parent’s home to a polished, premium product in the hands of hoomans across the world.

You’ll live close to our proto users, decode what they need (and what they can’t articulate), and translate that into design changes that move the product forward.
Preferred Industry:  Hardware / IoT devices, consumer electronics, wearables, or connected wellness products.

Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Hardware Ownership:  Own the full lifecycle of a Hoomanely device, including concept, prototype, EVT/DVT/PVT, launch, and post-launch iteration, partnering with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and industrial design teams.
Proto User Programs:  Design and run structured proto user programs. Recruit pet parents, deploy units, set hypotheses, define success metrics, and close the feedback loop with rigor.
User Interviews & Field Research:  Conduct deep, ethnographic-style interviews with pet parents and veterinarians. Observe real-world usage. Decode micro-signals and unmet needs.
Product Usage Feedback to Design Changes:  Build a continuous, closed-loop feedback system across device telemetry, app analytics, and field interviews. Translate it into prioritized design change requests.
PRDs & Specifications:  Maintain crisp PRDs, hardware specs, and feature roadmaps. Make and document trade-offs across cost, performance, manufacturability, and experience.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Partner with hardware, firmware, AI, app, and design teams. Coordinate with sourcing, manufacturing, and QA to ensure what we ship matches Hoomanely’s premium quality bar.
Performance Metrics:  Establish device-level KPIs (reliability, accuracy, signal quality, NPS) and use them to drive evidence-based hardware decisions.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
3–4 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years on a consumer hardware, IoT, or connected-device product.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one shipped hardware product (familiar with EVT, DVT, PVT, FAI, stop-ship scenarios).
Strong user research instincts. You’ve personally run dozens of interviews and can show how one insight changed a design decision.
Technical fluency across sensors, mechanical tolerances, BOM, firmware release trains, and edge AI constraints.
Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable writing tight specs and running disciplined reviews.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on exposure to sensor fusion, edge AI, or multi-modal sensing platforms.

Experience with industrial design, DFM, and global supply chain partners (ODM/JDM).
Prior work in wearables, health-tech, precision health, or veterinary technology is a strong plus.
Familiarity with agile and lean hardware methodologies; comfort with rapid, evidence-based iteration.
