Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Insurance (Life, Annuity, Pre-need) domain to lead end-to-end data architecture, solution design, and domain-driven data initiatives.
The role requires a mix of business understanding, cloud data architecture, and hands-on technical expertise , along with stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and govern end-to-end data architecture across ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics layers
Build scalable data models aligned with insurance processes (policy, claims, underwriting, premiums, etc.)
Architect cloud-based solutions using AWS, Snowflake, and Amazon Redshift
Drive data integration across source systems, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
Act as domain lead for Insurance data initiatives
Translate business requirements into data architecture & technical solutions
Define and enforce data governance, standards, and best practices
Provide hands-on expertise in SQL & Python-based transformations
Support performance tuning, cost optimization, and scalability
Review data models, solution designs, and code
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams
Mentor junior data engineers and architects
Required Skills & Experience
12+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering
Strong experience in Insurance domain Life & Annuity
Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift
Expertise in Data Modeling & Data Warehousing
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
Experience in data integration (ETL/ELT)
Knowledge of Dimensional Modeling, Data Lakes
Exposure to Spark / Scala (good to have)
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience in architecture design and solution delivery
Domain Expertise (Mandatory)
Policy Lifecycle Management
Premiums & Billing
Claims & Underwriting
Actuarial & Reinsurance Data
Regulatory & Compliance Reporting
Nice to Have
Experience in real-time / near real-time data processing
Exposure to client-facing / consulting roles
Knowledge of Insurance reporting & compliance frameworks
