Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented  Database Administrator (DBA)  with strong primary experience in  Microsoft Azure SQL  and secondary exposure to  Oracle Database, Azure Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB  to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure cloud-native, hybrid, and enterprise database environments. The DBA will ensure high performance, security, availability, and scalability of critical data systems while supporting business applications, development teams, and cloud transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server environments across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployments

· Plan and implement Azure SQL database resources, including sizing, provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and cost-aware configuration

· Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexing, execution plans, storage, and resource utilization

· Ensure database availability, reliability, and security across development, test, staging, and production environments

· Implement backup, restore, high availability, disaster recovery, geo-replication, and failover strategies for Azure SQL and SQL Server platforms

· Manage database upgrades, patching, migrations, and modernization initiatives from on-premises SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other RDBMS/No

SQL platforms to Azure SQL or cloud-native database services

· Provide secondary administration and operational support for Oracle Database, Azure Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB environments, including monitoring, basic troubleshooting, access management, and coordination with application teams

· Troubleshoot performance issues, outages, blocking, deadlocks, capacity constraints, and data inconsistencies

· Implement and maintain data integrity, role-based access controls, encryption, auditing, compliance, and secure database administration practices

· Collaborate with development, cloud, Dev Ops, and application teams to design efficient, scalable, and secure database structures

· Automate routine database maintenance, monitoring, alerting, and operational tasks using T-SQL, Power Shell, Azure Automation, or related tooling

· Document database environments, operational processes, architecture decisions, runbooks, and best practices

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

· 3 to 5 years of experience as a Azure Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role

· Primary hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and/or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines

· Strong experience with SQL Server administration, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning, query optimization, and database design

· Experience in database backup, restore, high availability, disaster recovery, replication, failover, and business continuity planning
