VMware 9.0 & NSX-T Administrator / Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced VMware Administrator with expertise in VMware vSphere 9.0 and VMware NSX-T to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise virtualization and software-defined networking environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure, virtualization, networking, storage, security, and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities

VMware vSphere 9.0 Administration

- Install, configure, and administer VMware vSphere 9.0 environments.
- Deploy and manage ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, clusters, and resource pools.
- Configure and manage HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and Distributed Switches.
- Perform virtual machine provisioning, migration, cloning, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and troubleshoot VMware-related issues.
- Implement VMware lifecycle management, patching, and upgrades.

VMware NSX-T Administration

- Install, configure, and administer VMware NSX-T Data Center.
- Design and implement software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.
- Configure Tier-0 and Tier-1 Gateways.
- Deploy and manage logical switching, routing, and distributed firewalls.
- Configure NAT, VPN, DHCP, Load Balancer, and micro-segmentation policies.
- Troubleshoot NSX-T networking and security issues.
- Integrate NSX-T with vSphere environments.

Infrastructure & Storage

- Manage SAN/NAS storage integration.
- Configure VMFS, NFS, and vSAN storage.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity planning.
- Perform backup and disaster recovery using VMware solutions.

Security & Monitoring

- Implement VMware security best practices.
- Manage RBAC, certificates, and identity integration.
- Monitor infrastructure health using VMware Aria Operations (vRealize Operations) or equivalent tools.
- Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents.

Automation

- Automate VMware administration using PowerCLI and Power Shell.

- Experience with VMware Aria Automation (vRealize Automation) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) is preferred.

Required Skills

- Strong experience with VMware vSphere 9.0.
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T.
- Expertise in ESXi, vCenter Server, HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion.

- Experience with VMware Distributed Switches (VDS).
- Knowledge of VLANs, VXLAN, Geneve, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing.

- Experience with SAN, NAS, and VMware vSAN.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Good understanding of enterprise networking and virtualization concepts.

- Experience with Windows and Linux server administration.

Preferred Skills

- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
- VMware Aria Suite (vRealize).
- PowerCLI scripting.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup solutions (Veeam, SRM).
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Kubernetes and Tanzu knowledge is an added advantage.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure administration.
- VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCAP, or VCIX are preferred.
- NSX-T certifications (VCP-NV/VCAP-NV) are highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

- 5–10+ years in enterprise virtualization environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale VMware infrastructure with high availability and disaster recovery.
- Experience working in enterprise data center and cloud environments.
