Role Description
We are seeking an experienced    Senior Technical SQL Engineer  to lead the design, development, optimization, and governance of enterprise-scale Microsoft SQL Server database environments. This role will be responsible for architecting high-performance data solutions, optimizing complex queries, and supporting  mission-critical applications  across large-scale systems.

The ideal candidate combines deep SQL development expertise with strong database architecture experience, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms that support  business-critical applications

Key Responsibilities – Senior Technical SQL Engineer

Core SQL Development (Primary Focus)

• Write, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers

• Develop efficient, scalable database logic to support  business applications

• Translate complex business requirements into high-performing SQL solutions

• Refactor and improve existing SQL code for performance, readability, and maintainability

Query Performance & Optimization

• Analyze execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks in queries and procedures

• Design and implement indexing strategies to improve query performance

• Tune high-volume transactional queries for optimal efficiency

Data Processing & ETL

• Develop and maintain SQL-based ETL processes and data transformations

• Build data workflows to support reporting, analytics, and downstream systems

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity

Troubleshooting & Production Support

• Diagnose and fix issues related to SQL logic, data inconsistencies, and performance

• Support production systems by resolving query-related issues quickly and effectively

Collaboration

• Work closely with application developers to integrate SQL logic into applications

• Participate in code reviews and enforce SQL development standards

• Contribute to Agile development cycles and deliverables

Required

Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of strong hands-on experience in SQL development (MS SQL Server preferred)

• Expert-level proficiency in writing complex queries and stored procedures

• Strong experience in query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis

• Deep understanding of relational databases and data modeling

• Proven ability to handle large datasets and high-volume transactions

• Experience with ETL/data transformation using SQL

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with SSIS or similar ETL tools

• Exposure to reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, etc.)

• Familiarity with Azure SQL or cloud-based data platforms

• Not  focused on server setup, patching, or hardware management

• Not  an SSIS ETL role

• Not  an SSRS Reporting role

• Purely focused on SQL development and data logic
