Job Description

The Purchasing BI Specialist designs and scales Power BI-based reporting and analytics solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the global purchasing organization. In this role, you will work closely with IT, procurement, and other internal stakeholders to establish data rules, maintain data integrity, and foster a data-driven culture within the organization.

We are looking for a BI expert who connects business processes with analytics platforms. You will act as a key driver of the Purchasing BI landscape, enabling self-service reporting, standardizing KPIs, and delivering scalable dashboards across the organization.

In this role, you will help shape the future of the SMART Purchasing landscape and contribute to building a data-driven global purchasing organization. If you are passionate about interfaces between business processes and data technologies, you might be just the right fit.

BI Development & Dashboarding:
Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for global purchasing stakeholders
Data Modeling & Architecture:
Develop scalable data models and ensure optimal performance of BI solutions
BI Consultancy:
Advise stakeholders on best practices in reporting, KPI design, and self-service analytics
Platform Optimization:
Continuously improve Power BI environment, data pipelines, and reporting performance
Data Visualization & Storytelling:
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and executive-ready dashboards; both for executive and end users
Project Management and Stakeholder

Collaboration:

Manage data integration projects and partner with IT, finance, and operations as the primary stakeholder interface; ensuring alignment and delivery of data initiatives
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and legal requirements
Training & Support:
Enable users through training and support in Power BI and self-service analytics

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in data science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

3–5+ years in Business Intelligence or reporting, with proven expertise in data management
Technical

Skills:

Expert-level experience in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard design, performance optimization)
Core

Skills:

Strong experience with Power BI (mandatory), SQL/querying, data modeling, and ETL/data integration concepts
Communication

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholders
Ability to work independently while being a team player
Advanced analytical skills to interpret complex data, identify process–data relationships, and drive value-enhancing purchasing solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of industry-specific data management practices and standards

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks) is a plus
Purchasing experience is an advantage, but not required
