NOC Network Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled NOC Network Engineer to join our 24×7 Network Operations Center. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and operational stability of enterprise and cloud network infrastructure across AWS, Azure, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
The successful candidate will serve as an L2/L3 technical escalation point , providing hands-on diagnosis and resolution of complex network incidents while ensuring adherence to defined SLAs, operational procedures, and ITIL processes.
This position requires strong expertise in enterprise networking, cloud connectivity, incident management, and network security, along with the ability to operate effectively in a global, multi-region, follow-the-sun environment .
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24×7 operational support and proactive monitoring of enterprise and cloud network environments.
Monitor network health, availability, and performance using AWS Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, Grafana, and Solar Winds .
Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network and connectivity issues, including:
Routing and switching anomalies
Intermittent connectivity and packet loss
DNS-related failures
VPN tunnel instability
Firewall and WAF-related issues
Load balancer and network configuration issues
Own network incidents through the complete lifecycle, from initial detection and investigation through remediation, validation, and service restoration .
Serve as an L2/L3 escalation authority for complex network incidents within the NOC.
Lead or actively participate in P1/P2 and Major Incident Management (MIM) activities, coordinating with relevant technical teams and vendors.
Administer and troubleshoot cloud networking components across AWS and Azure , including VPC/VNet, subnets, route tables, Transit Gateway, VWAN, load balancers, VPN, Direct Connect, and Express Route.
Troubleshoot connectivity across cloud, on-premises data centers, and third-party environments .
Manage and troubleshoot network security components including firewalls, WAF, Security Groups, NSGs, VPNs, and network access controls .
Execute approved network changes in accordance with established SOPs, change management procedures, and governance standards .
Maintain comprehensive incident, change, and operational documentation within Service Now .
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives covering runbooks, monitoring, alert optimization, dashboards, automation, and operational processes .
Ensure effective shift handovers and operational continuity across global teams.
Required Experience
5–8 years of experience in Network Operations, NOC, Network Infrastructure, or Infrastructure Operations.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure environments.
Proven experience supporting business-critical production environments operating 24×7 .
Strong experience in handling and resolving P1/P2 network incidents .
Demonstrated expertise in L2/L3 network troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis .
Experience supporting global enterprise environments across multiple regions and time zones .
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with distributed technical teams and external vendors.
Willingness to work in a 24×7 rotational shift environment .
Technical Expertise
Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing & Switching, BGP/OSPF
Cloud: AWS VPC, Azure VNet, VPN, Load Balancing, Hybrid Connectivity
Monitoring: Splunk, Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, Solar Winds
Security: Firewalls, VPN, WAF, Security Groups, NSGs
ITSM: Service Now, Incident/Change/Problem Management, ITIL
Operations: L2/L3 Troubleshooting, RCA, P1/P2 Incident Management, SLA & MTTR
Mandatory Certification
The candidate must hold at least one of the following certifications:
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
