Metalworking Operator - Snowplow

Location:

Bedford, PA

Shift:  1st :

Mon - Fri, 7am - 3pm

Job Summary And Mission

Operate horizontal power feed milling machines to mill snowplow blades.

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

This position works under the supervision of the Supervisor - Manufacturing, or in his/her absence, the designee. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily and results are reviewed daily or as needed.
This position requires:
6 months of manufacturing experience is preferred;
A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma;
Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training;
The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers;
Operate forklift's operators license.

Accountabilities

Set-up and operate mill and shear;
Set-up and operate drill and punch presses;
Set-up and operate brazing equipment to braze various products;
Assemble carbide to blades for braze process;
Inspect, paint, straighten, and package finished product;
Changes tools, adjusts and/or sets up shears, or milling machines, including selecting proper cutters, determining feeds and speeds, and replacing cutters when dull as required;
Assist other operators as needed.
