Role Overview :

- The Plant Operations Head is the overall leader responsible for driving manufacturing excellence, operational performance, profitability, and plant governance for a high-volume automotive component manufacturing facility. The role owns complete plant operations with accountability for production delivery, operational efficiency, quality, safety, cost optimization, and people leadership while ensuring world-class service levels to Tier-1 automotive OEM customers

The incumbent will lead cross-functional collaboration across Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Engineering to achieve business objectives, maximize asset utilization, and build a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and disciplined execution

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Operations Leadership

Lead end-to-end plant operations with complete ownership of production, delivery, safety, and operational performance.
Ensure achievement of monthly production targets while maximizing capacity utilization and manufacturing efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, and plant

Production Planning & Customer Deliv ery
Partner with PPC to ensure uninterrupted production planning and maintain On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance above 98%.
Ensure seamless coordination across manufacturing, supply chain, and customer requirements to meet demanding OEM schedul es.

Quality & Operational Excellence
Drive world-class manufacturing quality standards through robust problem-solving methodologies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and 8D process
Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), improve First Pass Yield, and eliminate recurring quality issues
Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant

Cost & Financial Management
Deliver plant profitability through effective cost management and operational excellence
Optimize processing costs including tooling, consumables, utilities, manpower and packaging
Drive EBITDA improvement through productivity enhancement and waste elimination initiatives

Inventory & Supply Chain Management
Ensure optimum inventory levels while eliminating stock-outs and material shortages.
Improve inventory turns through efficient stores management and material flow optimization

People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership teams across Production, Planning, and Stores while working closely with Quality and Engineering functions
Drive workforce productivity, employee engagement, performance management, and capability development
Manage industrial relations and contract workforce effectively to ensure stable oper ations.

Safety, Environment & Governance
Foster a zero-harm safety culture by ensuring full compliance with EHS standards
Lead ESG initiatives focusing on sustainability, waste reduction, and energy optimization
Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements

Candidate Profile
Education B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automobile Engineering, or related discipline. MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Operations/Manufacturing Management preferred

Experience
18–22 years of progressive manufacturing experience within the automotive components industry. casting, forging, machining preferred.
Well versed in Kannada language
Minimum 5–7 years of independent Plant Head/Operations Head experience.
Strong exposure to Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environments.
Proven leadership in managing manufacturing operations with annual business volumes exceeding over 300 Crores
Experience in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, and Operational Excellence.
Exposure to unionized environments and large contract workforce management will be an added advantage
