Minimum Qualification:
M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field
PhD in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry
Postdoc in organic chemistry / Medicinal chemistry (Optional)
0-4 years of hands-on experience in working on bench, preferably in an industry
Responsibilities:
Design and execute synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programmes
Track SAR and optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programs
Perform purification and structural characterization of compounds
Troubleshoot synthetic problems and optimize reaction conditions
Providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues
Maintain accurate lab records and contribute to technical reports
Collaborate with analytical teams as needed
Providing input on intellectual property activities
Technical and
Soft Skills:
Skilled in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation
Proficient in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation, others)
High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problem solving skills
Demonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, conversant with the current literature
Effective oral and scientific/technical writing communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Commitment to lab safety and adherence to safety protocols
Familiarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, Sci Finder)
Proficiency using MS Office applications is required
CTC Range: Commensurate to experience and negotiable.
