About Equilibrium:
Equilibrium, a Climes spin-off, is India's leading climate-tech company (backed by Sequoia India, now Peak XV), facilitating large-scale financing into building and scaling nature-based carbon sinks in the Global South. The company originates and aggregates high-quality projects that include a combination of nature-based solutions like agroforestry and regenerative agriculture. With an aim to make carbon projects bankable, the projects are designed with an emphasis on technology, robust research and expert implementation partnerships.
With over 100K farmers in the pipeline, and 150k ha; designated for these projects, Equilibrium is building a pipeline of about 1M carbon-credits annually. By prioritising permanent carbon removal, Equilibrium is creating impact that ripples through ecosystems, economies and communities.
We are seeking a highly competent and driven individual to join our team as the Carbon Projects Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Manage data for carbon projects across regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and other NbS projects and digitally monitor progress
Ensure project execution with timely submission of deliverables by collaborating with the technical team and on-ground partners as per specified methodologies
Collaborate with product teams and external partners to enhance & develop digital tools for carbon project monitoring, reporting, and verification
Manage field audits for carbon projects, ensuring compliance with standards
Conduct quality assurance checks in alignment with secondary datasets to ensure data accuracy and compliance
Provide support on establishing collaborations with external agencies, including government departments, FPOs, research universities, and industry associations
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A successful applicant must have the following:
A minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in project management. Experience in agriculture/forestry on farmer facing roles is a plus
Proven track record of coordinating projects involving multiple external stakeholders, showcasing exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills
Practical on-ground data collection experience to effectively oversee and guide data collection processes, to support the monitoring of nature-based projects
A firm commitment to Equilibrium's long term vision and climate change mitigation
A swift problem-solver with quantitative aptitude
Comfortable working both independently and within a team, while also establishing effective relationships with external clients
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients
