Almora Botanica UK Ltd. is a Skin Care Products company, revolutionizing Ayurveda by setting up a solid science foundation and innovation, with its R&D/product development laboratory in Bangalore. It has successfully launched Skin Care products in the USA, UK, UAE, Singapore and Vietnam since 2023. The product portfolio consists of two different lines:
Prevent & Preserve and Restore & Renew. The products are currently sold in prestigious retail outlets, such as Printems NY, Harrods, John Bell & Cryoden, Faces, Isetan and Hal de Beaute. Besides many Almora Botanica products have been well received, as evident from various awards, it received since 2023. Almora Botanica grossed the third highest revenue among all Beauty Brands in Printems NY.

Most distinctive feature of Almora Botanica’s products are: COSMOS-Certified Natural;
Two granted patents and three in the pipeline;
Clinically-validated across the globe.
We continue to explore new scientific pathways and claims for new products. Almora Botanica’s key science focus areas are: skin microbiome, effect of lymphatic systems on skin ageing, Anti-glycation and macro-phagues, exosomes and enhanced bio-absorption.  We are looking for a scientist-Skin Biology, who will be leading the above activities and have demonstrated capabilities on:

- Examine the Skin efficacy data, presented by active ingredient suppliers. Make a comparative Cost-benefit analysis. Examine in detail, various claims (e.g., gene expression) and make a comparison among its peer group of molecules/plant extracts.

- Devise a complementary group of actives per product to address the core requirement of the product and devise a plan to perform appropriate efficacy tests with the help of outside labs, specializing in cell and molecular biology.

- Interface with Biological evaluation experts (Cell Biologist and Molecular Biologist) to evaluate product efficacy test suggestions as well as monitor the progress of the work on a regular basis. Set-up and lead collaborative research projects with external academia in India/world.
- Identify and strengthen key Biology areas for future skin application: skin microbiome;
Anti-Glycation; macrophagues;
Anti-ageing;
Iron-overloading in skin etc...
- Complete familiarity with Skin health issues: acne, sagging; under eye-dark circles; dryness etc.. Complete familiarization with Mol Bio tools for antioxidants, anti-inflammatory; skin-firming; hydration etc….

- Interface with formulation developer to understand partitioning of actives into multiple phases in the product, which will be critical for targeted active delivery into dermis layers.
- Ensure good laboratory practices (GLP) and champion biological safety initiatives in the laboratory as per COSMOS norms.
- Project Management tools.

- The person will be the key Biology expert/authority for the company in future.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

(I) BS/MS/PhD in Cell-/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Biomedical Engineering/Pharmacology from IIT/IISER/National Universities/NIPER/Institute of National eminence/universities abroad.
(II) Preferably worked in the above areas with relavent companies/Startups in Skin Care/Beauty/Bio Tech domain.
(III) Experience in Natural Extracts based biomarkers for skin benefits
(IV) Strong/Working knowledge on Biological pathways, Skin Biology, In-vitro tests (product efficacy)
(V) Knowledge of evaluation methodologies employed in Skin Care
