A leading infrastructure and engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business and support the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across North Wales. The position will be predominantly site-focused, working closely with operational teams to drive health and safety performance across a range of electrical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the energy or power sector, ideally across overhead lines, substations or cabling projects, with the ability to work autonomously, influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture.
The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to operational teams across energy infrastructure projects.
- Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Supporting the delivery of overhead line, substation and cabling projects from a Health & Safety perspective.
- Working closely with site management and project teams to promote a positive Health & Safety culture.
- Leading accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Reviewing risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Promoting Health & Safety initiatives and supporting continuous improvement across projects.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and project delivery teams.
The Health & Safety Advisor will have:
- Previous experience working in a Health & Safety position within the energy, power transmission, utilities or electrical infrastructure sectors.
- Experience across overhead lines, substations or high-voltage cabling projects would be highly advantageous.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate, or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction site safety requirements.
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with operational teams.
- A proactive and practical approach to Health & Safety, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across North Wales.
