1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant Canterbury
Academics are seeking a caring and patient 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Canterbury. This is a rewarding role supporting a Reception pupil who requires additional guidance to thrive both emotionally and academically during their first year of school.
What you’ll do as a 1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant:- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Reception pupil throughout the school day
- Assist with play-based and structured EYFS learning activities
- Encourage early development in communication, social skills, and phonics
- Support the child with emotional regulation and routines
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider EYFS team
- Help maintain a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Experience in EYFS or supporting young children
- Warm, patient, and reliable approach
- Understanding of early childhood development and SEN support
- Strong communication and ability to follow individual support plans
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
