About The Role:

Every person at Cleo cares about building a product customers love and scaling it to millions of people. To do this, we need a deep understanding of our customers, our unit economics, and how product decisions translate into sustainable commercial outcomes. As a Commercial Analytics Manager
, you’ll combine hands-on analytical work with people management to drive Cleo’s commercial and product strategy. You’ll work closely with Commercial, Strategic Finance, and Product teams to uncover insights, size opportunities, and ensure data is a first-class input into decision-making. You’ll sit within Cleo’s wider data function, helping raise the bar for commercial analytics while remaining deeply involved in the work yourself.

Role & Responsibilities:
The Commercial Analytics team drives Cleo’s understanding of product and commercial performance across profitability, conversion, retention, and new product launches. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Analytics, you’ll manage a team of 3–4 analysts while personally delivering high-impact analysis, with roughly a 40-60% split between hands-on work and people/stakeholder leadership. The role involves collaboration with key partners across Commercial, Product, and Strategic Finance, and, where relevant, Risk and Credit.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Cleo’s key commercial KPIs: reporting, dashboarding, alerting, measurement frameworks, and cross-functional communication to ensure leadership and squads have timely visibility into performance, trends, and drivers.
  • Lead high-impact discovery analytics across core commercial KPIs (e.g., conversion, retention, LTV). Identify data-driven opportunities for growth, cost reduction, and improved product decisions in partnership with Commercial and Product.
  • Manage and develop a team of analysts, set clear priorities, coach for impact, and ensure delivery that influences strategy and outcomes.
  • Build, improve, and maintain commercial data foundations, including cost tracking and scalable data models (e.g., dbt); ensure timely data modelling updates to match business needs through a healthy team backlog.
  • Own commercial sizing and decision frameworks, modeling the impact of new initiatives, pricing changes, and feature launches on user value and company performance; continually improve sizing, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

Example projects you might lead

  • Build a commercial KPI framework with weekly executive readouts and alerts for major funnel, revenue, and cost movements.
  • Diagnose a conversion or retention shift, identify key drivers, and influence related product/commercial plans.
  • Evaluate the commercial impact of policy/product changes (including credit/risk economics where relevant).
  • Lead analytical work to support the launch of a new financial health product: translate commercial terms into timely revenue and cost data tracking and reporting frameworks.

Must-haves

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data, or a related field, ideally in a growth, subscription, or consumer product environment.
  • Experience managing and developing analysts in a high-performing culture.
  • Strong expertise in LTV, unit economics, gross margin, and profitability analysis.
  • Highly proficient in SQL, with end-to-end experience across the data pipeline.
  • Experience with dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
  • Experience in experimentation-driven product environments.
  • Prov…
