Maintenance Operative

Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance daily - from changing light bulbs to fixing a leaky tap, ensuring guests have a perfect stay every time.
• Work proactively with the "perfect rooms" programme, eliminating customer complaints by keeping everything functional.
• Supervise external contractors to ensure work meets high standards and complies with health & safety requirements.
• Reactively modify procedures and resolve issues arising from incidents to reduce risk and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to support refurbishment or capital expenditure projects cost‑efficiently while maintaining Health & Safety standards.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward problem solving and deliver high‑quality workmanship.

• Excellent work history in maintenance, ideally 2 years.
• Previous experience in a hotel environment is advantageous.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment and maintain standards‑driven, tidy work.
• Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with customers and team members.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing day‑to‑day demands and priorities.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Electricity and plumbing qualifications are advantageous.
