Refuse, Recycling & Street Cleansing Operative (36 hours per week)

- Thursday - 7:00am - 4:30pm - 12-week contract

You'll play a vital part in keeping our community clean, safe, and welcoming. As a Refuse, Recycling and Street Cleansing Operative, you'll work outdoors in all weather, carrying out essential services that directly improve the environment and daily life of local residents.

• Refuse & recycling collection
  - Safely load, lift and move waste and recycling containers, including items over 16kg, for more than half of each working day.
• Street cleansing duties
  - Litter picking, sweeping, emptying street bins, and maintaining public spaces to a high standard.
• Public interaction
  - Engage politely and professionally with members of the public during daily rounds.
• Team collaboration
  - Work closely with colleagues to complete routes efficiently and safely.
• Vehicle and equipment use
  - Operate tools and equipment as required, following all safety procedures.

• Outdoor manual work in paid employment, including heavy lifting of items over 16kg for more than 50% of a working day.
• Working in all weather conditions - rain, wind, heat, and cold.
• Teamwork experience in a practical, hands‑on environment.
• Good level of physical fitness and the ability to work safely at all times.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive, can‑do attitude.
