Location: Bangor

This opportunity is for a UK-based web developer to join an early-stage online directory platform focused on connecting customers with trusted local cake makers. The project is at MVP stage and seeks a technical co-founder interested in an equity and/or revenue-share partnership. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the founder to architect, build, and launch the platform, contributing technical expertise and sharing in the long-term growth and success of the business.

This role is suited to someone passionate about building products from the ground up, with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to make a tangible impact in the food and beverage sector.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical development of the MVP, including platform architecture, coding, and deployment
  • Collaborate with the founder to define product features, user flows, and technical requirements
  • Implement secure user authentication, subscription management, and payment integration
  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and user-friendly design across devices
  • Set up and manage hosting, domain, and ongoing site maintenance
  • Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and iterate based on user feedback
  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy and scalability planning
Skills And Requirements
  • Based in the UK, with the ability to collaborate remotely and attend occasional in-person meetings if required
  • Proven experience building and launching web applications (preferably directories or marketplaces)
  • Proficiency in modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, or PHP)
  • Experience with payment gateways, subscription models, and secure authentication
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI best practices and responsive design
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting, deployment, and version control (e.g., AWS, Heroku, Git)
  • Excellent communication skills, proactive problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset
  • Interest in equity/revenue-share partnership and long-term product ownership
