Office Administrator/ Coordinator
Location: Bangor
Applications are invited for a temporary (until 01/05/2027) full‑time post (maternity cover) in the Albert Gubay Business School (AGBS) at Bangor University.
Duties will include providing administrative support to the School Manager and other academic staff to support the successful development of the school.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be educated to 2 AS Levels or 1 A Level or NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject area or possess equivalent experience. The successful candidate is expected to commence as soon as possible. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. This role will be located on campus at Bangor; there is an option to spend time working remotely within the UK to support work‑life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates lications for part‑time or job‑share are also considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide effective clerical support for the range of administrative activities within the Albert Gubay Business School.
- Communicate effectively with staff and students and maintain working relationships with colleagues within the University and external bodies.
- Act as secretary to School committees (e.g. Board of Studies).
- Maintain office systems and records; diary management; screen calls; meet and greet visitors; make appointments and arrange meetings.
- Report and monitor Estates maintenance issues as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and safety of data, maintain records as necessary within GDPR, and ensure correct disposal of confidential waste.
- Provide a professional reception cover to the School (when on site).
- Coordinate outreach activities such as school visits, workshops, and engagement events.
- Maintain contact records and track engagement activity for reporting purposes.
- Assist in organising school events, venue booking, catering, materials and communications.
- Provide on‑day support to ensure events run smoothly.
- Assist with evaluation and feedback collection to support continuous improvement.
- Undertake other appropriate duties and responsibilities as may be required.
- Participate in performance review and developmental activities.

- 2 AS Levels or 1 A Level or NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject area or possess equivalent experience.
- Experience in working in administration roles in higher education settings.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 4 in a relevant subject area.

- Experience in an administrative, coordination, or support role.
- Experience supporting meetings, events, or projects.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

- Experience supporting outreach engagement.

- Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role.
