Location:

Bangor, North Wales. This is an in-office role based at our offices in Bangor, North Wales. See applied probabilities come to life as your work plays out on the casino floor. As a Math Analyst, you’ll get a hands-on preview of these exciting new games before they hit the market. Working closely with the Engineering team, the Math Analyst devotes their time to finding solutions and fixing mistakes to ensure that each game works properly.

This position is an entry-level opportunity for a graduate with a math background to apply their knowledge of probability, statistics and programming into a real-world application in standard game analysis, strategy game analysis, and RNG analysis.

What You Will Accomplish Here

The Math Analyst’s main focus will be on the following:

  • Testing and Math Analysis
    • Writing programs and performing analyses to calculate mathematical features of games.
    • Writing scripts to manipulate or reorganize large data files into standard formats for testing.
    • Conducting and interpreting statistical testing on game simulation results and RNG data.
    • Reading and interpreting jurisdictional requirements and consulting appropriately for interpretation.
    • Test harness: parsing; experience with Groovy or Java and Regex is desirable.
  • Reviewing and Documenting
    • Reading and modifying programs and analyses to meet testing needs.
    • Understanding and documenting source code in various languages.
    • Writing project reports summarizing testing conducted and results.
    • Carefully reviewing analysis work for accuracy.
  • Communicating Externally and Internally
    • Working with external clients and communicating professionally on technical topics
    • Collaborating with the Math Department and other employees
  • Experience, Education, Skills, and Credentials
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
    • Associate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or 2+ years of equivalent experience; certification or training may be considered in lieu of education
    • Knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics
    • Knowledge of a modern, object-oriented programming language such as C++, including OO design
    • Core programming concepts and techniques
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external contacts
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • High attention to quality, details, and correctness
    • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation
