A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Analyst / Developer to work in the Digital Solutions division of the Digital and Estates Infrastructure Directorate. As part of Digital Solutions, the role will join the a talented team of analysts and developers who are responsible for all in-house software solutions and interfaces to external systems across the entire university.

The successful candidates will have a degree in a related subject or significant relevant experience.

You will have significant experience developing and supporting corporate solutions. You may have previous experience of ERP and other key University systems including Ellucian Banner, Business Intelligence and Information Management Systems or you may have good coding skills. You’ll be a problem solver by nature with a broad set of skills gained from providing development and support to a wide range of business needs.

The post is permanent and full-time and benefits from being eligible to the nationally supported USS pension scheme and various other employee benefit schemes including sports facilities and child care.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.

This role will be located on campus ough our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates  this role, there is a minimum requirement to be in the Bangor office two days a week or operationally as required.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

The role holder will assist in the development, support and maintenance of in-house software and ERP systems using the role holder’s experience and skills to complement colleagues within the team. The role will also involve working with others across the university to support these systems.

• Work with academic and professional services staff to model and optimise end-to-end business processes (e.g. admissions, enrolment, assessment, research grants).
• Develop solutions using both in-house coding and configuration of existing ERP systems.
• Support and maintain the data warehousing solution for temporal analytics needs.
• Assist in maintaining the security of all systems by ensuring updates to all systems are undertaken in a timely fashion and systems are configured robustly and securely.
• Communicate with the different business units and people, helping to translate their requirements to system specifications.
• Support various data reporting platforms.
• Work with Project Managers and teams to support transformational and operational digital projects.
• Ensure comprehensive technical documentation for all solutions is maintained.
• Support institutional statutory and regulatory reporting requirements by ensuring accurate, auditable data pipelines.
• Provide second- and third-line support for business-critical applications, including incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
