Bangor University – North Wales Medical School – Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation Practice

Grade 7: £38,249 - £45,413 p.a. ()

As part of our continuing expansion of medical, pharmaceutical and healthcare sciences at Bangor University, the North Wales Medical School is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant for this permanent, full‑time role of Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation Practice. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of clinical skills teaching and assessment for the undergraduate and graduate entry medical programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver clinical skills teaching for undergraduate and graduate medical programmes.
  • Develop and assess students’ clinical skills using simulation.
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Skills and Simulation Lead Senior Lecturer and other staff.
  • Provide support to students and staff in simulation equipment and activities.
  • Stay current with developments in clinical skills education and simulation.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant clinical area.
  • Experience in clinical skills and simulation teaching.
  • Teaching qualification, or willingness to obtain one within three years of appointment.
  • Strong communication skills; the ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient safety and quality in teaching.

  • Location:

    Academic base at Bangor main campus, with visits to clinical teaching centres and Wrexham campus as required.
  • Flexible working:
    Option to spend some time working remotely within the UK, subject to discussion with candidates at interview.
